NORTHERN WISCONSIN – The Lake Superior’s Lake trout season began yesterday.  The Wisconsin DNR says anglers can cast their line in two regions: The Western Arm, Superior to Bark Point (northeast of Herbster, Wisconsin), or the Apostle Islands Region, which is from Bark Point to the Michigan Border.  In the Western Arm region, the bag limit is three lake trout. In the Apostle Islands region, the bag limit is two.  Anglers must have a 2024-2025 general fishing license and a Great Lakes trout and salmon stamp to harvest lake trout.  The season runs until September 30, 2025, or until the harvest cap is met.
