BAYFIELD - Big changes coming to Big Top Chautauqua for the 2025 concert season. According to a press release from the Ashwabay Alliance which runs Big Top Chautauqua, only 13 of the 47 shows at Big Top in 2024 were profitable. As a result, the alliance plans to shrink the Big Top concert season this summer while expanding other areas of programming and reevaluating their strategy. They say they will run fewer shows, focusing on those they know will run at a profit. The Alliance says profits have fallen largely due to declining attendance and rising operational costs since Covid. Big Top Chautauqua has attracted big crowds to Bayfield for 40 years.
