VILAS COUNTY - A seat on the Vilas County board is open again. It’s the second time the board will start the summer with vacant seats on the board. This time it’s the district 5 seat, which covers Wards 2 and 7 in the town. No one stepped forward to run for that seat when former board member Michelle Langheim didn’t run for re-election. County Clerk Kim Olkowski said she didn’t receive applications from anyone before the deadline of the 7th. The process to fill a seat takes a few weeks, so if you’re interested, letters of interest and resumes should be sent to Chairman Jerry Burkett, Vilas County Board of Supervisors, District #5 applications, 300 Court Street in Eagle River.
