IRONWOOD - The EMS program at Gogebic Community College was awarded approximately $70,000 to cover the cost of tuition and books from the Michigan Center for Rural Health. The program pays full tuition for up to 20 students and includes a $950 stipend to each student to cover expenses starting this October.  The Superior Health Foundation has also awarded GCC approximately $25,000 to support EMS Education. This one-year grant will cover tuition and books for students enrolled in the GCC EMS classes. It also provides funding for EMS providers who want to learn how to become Instructor Coordinators and teach in the EMS program.
