N. WISCONSIN - Bear hunting season begins today in Wisconsin.  Zones A and B, which includes most of the Northern third of Wisconsin dogs are permitted.   Hunters are allowed the aid of bait and all other legal methods not using dogs through the 10th.  Sept. 11 to Oct. 1 hunters may use the aid of bait, dogs or all other legal methods and from Oct. 2 to Oct. 8 hunters can use the aid of dogs only.  Wisconsin's bear population is estimated at 26,000, with most of the bears living in the northern half of the state.
