IRONWOOD – Nearly 800 took part in the Red Bull 400, the first at Copper Peak in 6 years. After a six-year gap, the Red Bull 400 returned to Copper Peak this weekend, with competitors coming from all over the country to tackle the grueling climb.  About 750 racers crawled 400 meters up the steepest parts of Copper Peak, the world’s largest artificial ski jump.  Copper Peak president Bob Jacquart said several weeks ago the advance team from Red Bull came to inspect the ski jump and the facilities and were astonished at the actual size of it.  Jacquart participated in the climb and finished in 15 minutes, whereas winners were expected to turn in 5-minute times for the race.  Results of the race are expected to be posted to the Red Bull social media pages once they’ve been tabulated.
