LAC DU FLAMBEAU - The search continues for missing 37-year-old Melissa Beson of Lac du Flambeau.  Now the family of the missing woman is speaking out in an effort to find her. Her family is now pleading for anyone with any information to reach out to the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police. The Family also making a plea to their beloved Missy on the chance that she’s still out there.  Her family members say it wasn’t uncommon for Melissa, to venture away from home to enjoy the nature but they stay she’s never been gone this long. Beson was last seen March 17 on Indian Village Road in Lac du Flambeau, near her home. Authorities have searched for clues between surveillance footage, social media, friends, bank statements and more.

SAUGATUCK, Mich. (AP) — Former Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox is launching a Republican bid for governor according to an announcement on social media yesterday. Cox served as Michigan's attorney general from 2003 to 2011. He ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2010, coming in third in the Republican primary. Cox joins a crowded field of Republicans looking to replace term-limited Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Michigan Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt and U.S. Rep. John James are also in the Republican primary. On the Democratic side, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II are running. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan is running as an independent. He was previously a Democrat.

KALAMAZOO - Former U.S. Attorney Mark Totten announced his campaign for Michigan Attorney General yesterday morning, with the support of several Democrats from across the state.  The current Michigan Attorney General, Democrat Dana Nessel, is unable to run again due to term limits. Totten is the first person to announce a campaign for the 2026 Michigan Attorney General race. He will run as a Democrat.
