NEWBOLD – One dead, six injured after a police chase in Oneida County led to a crash.  On Friday at approximately 9:15 p.m. Oneida county sheriff’s deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on highway 47 in the township of Newbold.  The subject failed to stop which initiated a police vehicle pursuit.  That chase ended when the subject crossed into the oncoming lane and struck another vehicle near the intersection of highway 47 and bridge road.  The vehicle that was struck contained six passengers, all of whom sustained injuries. The subject was pronounced dead at the scene after law enforcement attempted life-saving measures.  The Wisconsin DOJ’s department of criminal investigation (DCI) is leading the investigation with assistance from Wisconsin State Patrol.
