---UPDATE--- The Trump administration has rescinded the cuts. There are now no funding cuts that affect Gogebic Community College or GCC students

IRONWOOD - Funding freezes mandated by the current administration have trickled down to Gogebic Community College. The GCC Board of Trustees received word on Tuesday that certain federal grants, loans and other assistance have been frozen. The freeze doesn’t include Title IV, so loans, Pell Grants and federal funding for students in extreme need will continue for the time being. College officials are working to learn exactly which programs will directly affect GCC Students. So far it has been confirmed the TRIO program which helps students who are in financial need, are first generation college students or have disabilities has stopped receiving funds. So far, the funding pause does not impact VA funding. Information regarding the freeze continues to be gathered.
