N. WISCONSIN / U.P. - There’ll be a meeting this evening from 7 to 9:30 pm at the town hall in Winchester to introduce a new healthcare network in the area and to discuss the needs of residents in the area. The Gogebic Iron Vilas Network is “a collaboration of rural health providers and other stakeholders who join forces to address mutually agreed upon needs within their communities with the goal of increasing the efficiency of the local health care system.” The area that GIVN will cover has been designated by state and federal governments as a primary care shortage area for medical, mental and dental health. GIVN is working on creating a strategic plan to address those healthcare needs and has been awarded the only planning grant in the state of Wisconsin for 2025. Those interested in expanding the availability and quality of healthcare in the region are invited to attend.
