PARK FALLS – Something Stinks in Park Falls in Northern Wisconsin.  The city has been receiving complaints about an odor in the area of the former Paper Mill and the impact on Park Manor Nursing Home. The odor is being caused by the two ash basins located at the wastewater treatment plant of the Paper Mill that are holding organic matter that is decomposing. The city is flushing the liquid portion of the ash basins into the sewer system.  The DNR has been advised.  It is anticipated that work will be completed within the next week and that the smell will then go away.
