MADISON, Wis. (AP) —The Wisconsin season opens at dawn tomorrow and runs through sunset on Dec. 1. Hunters are looking to rebound after a tepid 2023 season that saw a total harvest of about 174,000 deer, down about 17% from 2022. The decline was steepest in northern Wisconsin, where officials say a harsh winter may have depleted deer populations. State wildlife biologists warn things might not look much better this year. The season falls on the latest dates possible and the rut has all but ended, meaning deer won't be moving much during the day.
