N. WISCONSIN - Anglers Get Ready…Its Trout Season. Lake Trout season is on for Lake Superior and will continue through at least mid-September, or until the 15,000 fish quota is met. Lake Superior in Wisconsin is split into two areas, the Western Arm and the Apostle Island region. The season in the Apostle Island may close earlier since it tends to attract more anglers. There’s a limit of three fish from the Western Arm and two for the Apostle Island region. Fish must be at least 15 inches long and only one fish over 25 inches may be kept. General fishing licenses must be purchased along with a Great Lakes Salmon and Trout stamp in order to harvest any trout. More information can be found at dnr.wisconsin.gov.
