BOULDER JUNCTION - Its official…Wisconsin’s first skating “ribbon” is open in Boulder Junction. “The Glide” is the brainchild of Park Board members, Henry Royer and Steve Weber, with a ton of help from the Park Board, the Boulder Junction Community Foundation, the Wild Ice-Skating Explorers group and local volunteers. The almost mile long “Glide” takes skaters through some lovely scenery usually only accessible by cross country skiers. “The Glide” opened on Christmas Eve and the public is invited to a Grand Opening event on Sunday, the 29th from 2 to 4 p.m. Bring your skates, as there will be a limited supply of loaner skates at the warming center next to the ice rink or you can now also rent a pair from Coontail on Park Street in Boulder Junction.
