IRONWOOD – Gas prices are at their lowest point this year.  The state gas price average is down 14 cents from a week ago, and below $3 per gallon for the first time in nearly a year.  Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.94 per gallon of regular unleaded gas, that price is 13 cents less than this time last month and 22 cents less than this time last year. The national average is 8 cents higher than the state, at $3.02 per gallon.  Around Upper Michigan, the lowest gas prices are in Ironwood at $2.69 as of this morning. The highest is in Mackinac County at $3.27 per gallon.  Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group said “If demand falls, alongside increasing gasoline stocks, pump prices could drop further.”
