IRONWOOD – If your Ironwood home is vacant the Ironwood City Commission will be sending you a letter that will ask you to considering rent it out to help ease a local housing crisis. There are about 50 homes on a list compiled during a water usage study that appears to be vacant. The city’s Economic Development Corporation made a request to inquire as to the rental or sale of the properties, as the housing shortage in the area continues. The Commission also approved two resolutions, one that would change City Commission elections from odd years to coincide with even year general elections, which would save the cost of an odd year election and one that would change the commissioner’s terms to staggered four-year terms. The next meeting of the Ironwood City Commission will be on the 24th at 5:30 pm.
