MINOCQUA - Minocqua Brewing Company owner Kirk Bangstad has been named in a new civil lawsuit filed late last Wednesday that alleges that Bangstad has defrauded his donors by using funds raised by his super PAC to pay himself close to half a million dollars. The suit, filed by The Lakeland Times publisher Gregg Walker and general manager Heather Holmes also allege that Bangstad violated their privacy by using their images in the brewing business’s commercial products. Bangstad is accused of marketing “Snowflake Holiday Ale” in December, with a picture of Gregg Walker’s face on the label. The lawsuit is said to have information regarding the defamation case filed by Walker, and has new allegations regarding fraud and misuse of super PAC funds. The suit contends that Bangstad used the donations to the PAC to subsidize the Minocqua Brewing Company.
