BOULDER JCT - The Parks and Recreation Department of Boulder Junction has announced the construction of an 18-hole disc golf facility will begin next month.

The course is to be built on land already owned by the town just east of the Boulder Junction Community Building. The Parks and Rec Board Chair Laura Bertch says the course should be done by June. The Tall Pines Disc Golf Course will be free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis during park hours except when the course is reserved for league play and tournaments. The course is expected to bring new visitors to the city, since roughly 87% of disc golf players will travel more than twenty miles to play a course and more than 50% of players plan overnight trips around their games. The grand opening of the course is tentatively scheduled Memorial Day Weekend this year. For more information, go to www.boulderatplay.com.
