WOODRUFF - The search is on for a new Lakeland airport administrator. After Jon Schmitz’s resignation, Roger Grahl had been filling that position for several months and then nominated Jesse Birginal, manager of Lakeland Aviation, to take over as of March 1st. Day to day operations of the airport have been made more efficient, and Grahl said he’d be away all of April and it made sense to bring Birginal in. At their last meeting at the end of the month, the Airport Board voted to appoint Birginal as interim administrator and to move forward with advertising the position.
