IRONWOOD - Strong storms will affect the region today through tomorrow night. Chances of thunderstorms late this afternoon through early Saturday morning. A few storms may be severe with hail up to half- dollar size. Periods of locally heavy rain are possible, which could lead to minor flooding and ponding of water in yards and on roads. Moderate to heavy rainfall will continue tomorrow morning, with a transition to a wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain, and eventually snow Saturday across the region by tomorrow evening.  Snow totals expected to be less than 3 inches.
