MERCER - Mercer Fire & EMS has now been up and operational for a week.  How is the new service doing?  Eric Snow Chairman, Town of Mercer says in that span, EMS has been paged for five calls and says “In an effort to maintain complete transparency, we want to be clear to everyone there have been some minor issues. While the first three calls were successfully fielded, there were two calls that they were unable to answer.”  Beacon EMS were able to assist with those calls.  Snow says “As with many new things, there will be some growing pains with the new service.  Rest assured, the issues are being addressed, and we will continue to improve.”  To date, there are now 13 members affiliated with the service, not including those currently taking the class.
