IRONWOOD - The Gogebic Range Health Foundation has been awarded a planning grant through the Michigan Rural Readiness Grant Program to develop a comprehensive plan for a multi-purpose community center in Gogebic County, in partnership with the City of Ironwood and with support from many local community organizations, businesses, government officials, and leaders. The $50,000 grant will support the early stages of the project, which will assess the community’s needs, including an evaluation of community health, and determine the best strategy for creating a sustainable and impactful center.  In January of this year, the Gogebic Range Health Foundation surpassed $1 million in giving.  At this stage, no decisions have been made regarding the center’s location, services, or features.
