N. WISCONSIN - Nearly $1 million in surface water grants have been awarded by the Wisconsin Department Natural Resources. Lake groups, non-profits and other county and municipal government entities in Vilas and Oneida counties have been named.

Just over $608K was awarded to applicants in Vilas County. Vilas County Land and Water is one of the organizations to receive funding, to the tune of almost $15K. Land and Water will use the funds for invasive species management and prevention in area waterways. The Unified Lower Eagle River Chain of Lakes Commission and Northwoods Land Trust, Inc. were also given grant funding.
