UPPER MICHIGAN - The state of Michigan has once again moving into pothole season, and to raise awareness and push for action from state leaders, FixMIState has launched the ‘Pothole Payback’ contest, offering motorists a chance to receive compensation for repairs caused by Michigan’s crumbling infrastructure. Through June, Michigan residents can submit photos and stories of pothole related vehicle damage for a change to win cash toward repairs. Each month, up to five winners will be chosedn and will receive up to $758, the average cost of repairs due to poor road conditions. Rob Coppersmith, executive vice president of the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association says the Pothole Payback contest is designed to remind lawmaker of the depth of road maintenance problems in the state. Residents are encouraged to submit their entries at fixmistate.org.
