UPPER MICHIGAN - A bill will soon cross Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s desk for approval that will allow some school districts in the U.P. to skip four extra snow days due to weather and subsequent flooding in March and April. State Representative Parker Fairbairn authored the legislation, which has already passed the House. Schools have had to extend the school year into June to make up for those lost days, increasing costs for the districts and interfering with family plans for the summer vacations.
