BOUDER JUNCTION - Boulder Junction continues its drive to provide opportunities for outdoor recreation in the community. In 2021, the city’s parks and rec board sought to replace outdated playground equipment with. The cost, $300,000. It took two years to raise the funds, and now that playground is in use. There have been a number of upgrades to other Boulder Junction recreation facilities, including the skating ribbon called The Glide for use in the winter and the purchase of 10 acres for a disc golf course. An upgrade to the basketball court was next on the list, with the court being resurfaced and new hoops installed thanks to donors and volunteers. Now benches and a fence will complete that project. Work on the disc golf course should be done midsummer with the help of volunteers.
