LAC DU FLAMBEAU - The town board of Lac du Flambeau has come up with a proposal to present to the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians regarding easement dispute between the town and the tribe over access to four roads that cross tribal lands. Town chairman Matt Gaulke said town attorney Greg Harold along with outside counsel Frank Kowalkowski came up with terms for the proposal and that when Harrold is finished crafting the document, Gaulke will take it to the tribe. The contents of the proposal won’t be made public until it has been delivered to the tribe, and Gaulke said he doesn’t have any idea about a time frame for the next developments regarding the proposal.
