WESTERN U.P - The American Red Cross is looking for volunteers to serve on their Disaster Action Team. The Red Cross Northeast and North Central Wisconsin chapters serve eight counties in the Upper Peninsula, including Gogebic, Iron, and Ontonagon counties. There is a critical need for volunteers to respond when disaster strikes and help survivors with whatever they need, whether that’s a bottle of water, finding housing to help them find loved ones. Northeast Wisconsin Executive Director Rebecca Rockhill says the number of disasters are increasing and the numbers of volunteers is dwindling. There is a critical need. For more information on how to volunteer, go to volunteerconnection.redcross.org.
