BESSEMER – The city of Bessemer common council met last night.  The council discussed qualifications and a salary range for the job posting for the City Manager position in Bessemer.  They discussed posting a salary range for the position and posting what qualification would be required from an individual to fill that position.  The commission had differing opinions on what the qualifications should be but decided the candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and or 5 years’ experience in a municipal Government field at a salary range between $70,000 to $90,000.  Mandy Lake has been filling the city manager position on a temporary basis.     The city commission also discussed the library services contract and a resolution to apply for a category B grant.
