WAKEFIELD - The City of Wakefield has a new treasurer. Patricia Sperhake has been deputy treasurer since July of last year.  The Wakefield City Council voted to promote Sperhake. She’s completed the Michigan Treasurer’s Association training session and has been training on the job for the last few months. When the council approved Sperhake’s promotion, it also approved a wage package. Funding for her wages has already been built into the city’s 2024-25 fiscal budget. The Wakefield City Council’s next scheduled meeting is July 9th.
