IRONWOOD – Man arrested in Ironwood after a Bungled Auto Theft and pursuit.  An as of yet unidentified man was arrested by law enforcement Sunday morning after stealing a vehicle, crashing it, trying to steal another vehicle to evade law enforcement and then attempting to flee on foot. The suspect rammed a Gogebic County Sheriff’s vehicle during the pursuit, Michigan State Police then saw him hit two more vehicles, disabling the stolen vehicle he was driving. The suspect was on foot, was confronted and diverted by several civilians and fled across four lanes of traffic at Luxmore and Cloverland Drive. He attempted to steal the second vehicle at a convenience store but was thwarted by Ironwood Public Safety. He was finally tased after officers repeatedly gave him orders to stop. He is being held in the Gogebic County Jail on a number of charges. The name of the suspect is being withheld pending arraignment.
