MANITOWISH WATERS, Wis. - Road construction will begin later this month on U.S. Highway 51 between Mercer and Manitowish Waters.    Governor Evers signed a $4 million contract for improvements between County Highway W in Manitowish Waters and Weber Creek Bridge in Mercer.  Road work is scheduled to start on June 17 and be completed by September 2024.  During construction, Highway 51 will remain open to traffic, but will be impacted with flag operations and lane closures.
