WESTERN U.P. - Partners across the western U.P. are looking to improve community durability against the impacts of abnormal weather.  The Center for Climate-driven Hazard Adaptation, Resilience, and Mitigation (C-CHARM) has been formed to serve as a solution.  C-Charm is being funded by a Department of Energy grant for the next three years. So far, partners have begun expanding and improving flood prediction maps, installing weather stations and evaluating community energy systems. This data will be used for models to simulate future extreme weather events.  The project covers Baraga, Gogebic, Houghton, Iron, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon counties.
