ARBOR VITAE - A building in Arbor Vitae sustained substantial damage after a fire on Sunday evening. Firefighters arrived at the home in the 11,000 block of Kern Lane to find a steel storage building in flames. Vehicles near the 40×80-foot building were also involved. Incident Commander requested mutual assistance. Departments from Woodruff, Minocqua, Hazelhurst, Boulder Junction, St. Germain, Plum Lake, Manitowish Waters, Lake Tomahawk, and Lac du Flambeau arrived to provide water and help fight the fire. Traffic on Hwy 51 was dropped to two lanes of traffic for a time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
