HOUGHTON COUNTY - A 22-year-old man who was identified by the City of Hancock Police Department as the suspect who vandalized property and ran over an 80-year-old man with an ATV over the weekend has been found dead.  The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched yesterday to an address on Samson Street in Quincy Township in Houghton County.  According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, Hancock police received a message from an individual at that address who said they wanted to confess to a crime involving an ATV driver within the last 24 hours and asked authorities to “send someone to pick me up.”  When responders arrived on the scene, they discovered the man dead, the cause of which appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  On Sunday, the Hancock Police Department responded to three different incidents, in one case the subject was driving an ATV allegedly drove into a yard, running over an 80-year-old male who was posting a political sign.    The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition.  The name of the suspect hasn’t been released.
