IRONWOOD - The state gas price average hit a new 2024 high on Friday but fell again slightly over the weekend.  Michigan drivers now pay an average of $3.78 for a gallon of regular gas. That price is 8 cents more than this time last month and 12 cents more than this time last year.  The national average stayed nearly steady over the past week, rising 1 cent to $3.51 per gallon.  Around the Upper Peninsula, the lowest average is in Gogebic County at $3.47 per gallon with Ironwood prices even lower at $3.33 a gallon this morning. The highest continues to be in Mackinac County, at $3.88 per gallon.
