MERCER - Preparations are underway for the 4th Annual Mercer Backyard BBQ Cook-off. The event will be held on July 20 at Carow Park. It is an amateur competition, with ribs, pork butt and brisket categories. The entry fee for grillers is $100 but those hoping to sample will only pay $10. Applications are open now, but spots are limited.
