BESSEMER – The Bessemer Common Council was given an update on the search for a new city manager at their meeting last night.  The city has received a total of 28 applications in total with 16 of those 28 fitting withing the education or experience requirements the common council is looking for.  The executive committee is reviewing the 28 applications to create a short list of candidates to present to the common council.  The Common Council also decided to continue online advertising for the position until the position is filled.  Mandy Lake has been serving as the interim city manager.
