BARAGA - The Michigan Corrections Organization (MCO) held an informational picket near Baraga Maximum Correctional Facility to raise awareness of staffing shortages and unsafe working conditions in Michigan’s prisons on Tuesday.  The event comes after Monday’s picket near the Chippewa/Kinross facilities.  The events aim to mobilize lawmakers to address the staffing crisis at correctional facilities across the state.  Baraga’s Correctional Facility is lacking more than 30% of the correctional officers it needs.
