GRAND MARAIS, MN - Cook County on the North Shore is receiving $1 million to tackle two key projects related to energy and sustainability.  The first will transition the former Taconite Harbor Energy Center in Schroeder Township into something more useful for the county’s current needs.  The other key project is developing a county waste transfer station.  Currently, Cook County hauls its waste to Duluth.
