IRONWOOD - The driver who crashed into a building in Ironwood early Sunday morning has been released from the hospital according to Ironwood Public Safety.    Early Sunday Morning Hurley police say they spotted a large pickup truck driving at a high rate of speed with its lights off, when Hurley police attempted a traffic stop the suspect allegedly sped up and crossed to boarder into the city of Ironwood where he was able to elude police.  The suspect then lost control of the truck crashed through the fence and playground at the Our Lady of Peace Church before crashing into a building. The driver of the truck was then taken to Aspirus Ironwood Hospital for treatment and later transferred to a different hospital.  The driver’s name has not been released pending arraignment.  The investigation into the crash is still ongoing. Once completed, charges are likely against the suspect.  The driver could face charges in both Iron and Gogebic County.
