ASHLAND - Tamarack Health Ashland, Ashland County Health and Human Services and the BRICK Ministries are the home of a new program in Ashland. Daniel Compton, a certified peer support specialist with Tamarack has helped to introduce a free, walk-in Narcan training program. Before becoming a peer support specialist, Compton can relate, Narcan has saved his life more than once. Compton says the new way to administer Narcan makes it so anyone can help someone who is overdosing. The Narcan is delivered in a simple nose spray. A woman who’s already taken the training session says she feels it's important to know how to help someone who needs a little extra support. The walk-in training session’s are held on the first Thursday of every month at The BRICK in Ashland.
