MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Guidance from the Democratic governor of Wisconsin’s administration to state employees about what to do if immigration officials or other federal agents show up at their workplace is drawing fire from Republicans, who say it was in defiance of the law and President Donald Trump. The guidance from Gov. Tony Evers’ Department of Administration was emailed to state workers on Friday afternoon. It offers guidance mirroring what immigrant rights groups and other advocates have released. The memo comes as Trump’s administration has ramped up efforts to deport people living in the country illegally, setting off a string of lawsuits and resistance among Democrats.

N. WISCONSIN- Fewer people are vaping and using tobacco according to a new report by the Wisconsin Department of Health.  Data collected shows a decline from 13.6% in 2023 to just under 12% in 2024.  Wisconsin health leaders credit public awareness campaigns and a 2019 change in federal law that raised the legal tobacco sales age from 18 to 21 for the downward trend.
