LAC DU FLAMBEAU - The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa said in a letter on Tuesday, that out of respect for a request by the federal court, the tribe would not block access to roads in current contention, nor issue citations for trespassing.

Recent action on the part of the tribe, prompted homeowners in the contended area asked the federal court for help in the matter, saying that the possibility of citations, cameras, roadblocks and possible prosecution were causing undue stress. Tribal leaders continue to say they’re open to a mutually respectful and equitable solution. Civil litigation in the matter continues.
