ASHLAND - DOGE is terminating leases for federal offices across the country, including the Bureau of Indian Affairs location in Ashland.  In Ashland, the Bureau of Indian Affairs leases a nearly 35,000-square-foot building.  Their lease is set to be terminated at the end of August.  There are 40 employees at the office.  Republican congressman Tom Tiffany who represents Northern Wisconsin in a statement says he’s closely monitoring the situation and is confident the U.S. Department of the Interior will fulfill its federal obligations to tribal communities.  According to online records, 15 other offices in Wisconsin are impacted.
