WAKEFIELD – The Traffic Light at the intersection of US-2 and M-28 isn’t broken. It’s part of a study to see if it’s really needed. The Michigan Department of Transportation is evaluating the traffic signal at the US-2/M-28 (Sunday Lake Street) intersection in Wakefield, Gogebic County. The traffic signal at US-2 and M-28 will be put into flash mode beginning at just before noon today, Friday, and will continue flashing through the fall. The study of the sign is designed to evaluate the safety and operational performance of the intersection. Motorists should be aware of the change in the traffic pattern the flashing light designates.
