HOUGHTON – Yesterday UPSET detectives arrested a Houghton County man on meth charges.  On Friday, Aug. 16, Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) detectives arrested a 55-year-old Atlantic Mine man who had 7 grams of meth. Officers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post and the Houghton City Police, along with UPSET detectives, were involved in the investigation. Following the arrest, officers and detectives searched the suspect’s residence and workshop with a warrant. Officers found more evidence of drug use and paraphernalia. The suspect was lodged at the Houghton County jail. Police say his name will not be released until after his arraignment in the 97th District Court.
