IRONWOOD – Copper Peak is set to undergo a multi-million-dollar renovation.  Ski hill leaders signed a contract with the engineering company overseeing construction. Also present were state Senator Ed McBroom and state Representative Greg Markkanen, who helped Copper Peak secure $20 million dollars in state ARPA funding for the project.  Plans to revitalize the ski jump are expected to turn the site into an international attraction.  This phase of the project looks to bring the landing hill up to modern standards. That work is expected to take two years to complete. After that, the hill’s tower and judge’s stand will be updated. More than 30 countries could be represented in future ski jumping competition once the project is complete. The jump hasn’t been operational since 1994, but it still has a reputation as one of the best in the world.
